PS3 tops ebay charts as far as prices for consoles go

ps3-image-3.JPGHow much are you willing to pay to get your hands on Sony's PS3? Looks like the console is going at the price of $1000 on ebay. Surprised? Don't be, I've been saying for a long time that Sony fanboys will stop at nothing to get this console. $1000 is safe and harmless compared to the reports of theft and murder that have been witnessed all over USA.

Anyway, coming back to the topic of the prices rocketing sky high. Since the launch date to now, a total of 14,675 PS3 units have been sold, a staggering figure indeed. What is even more staggering is the price of about US$ 1186.39 for both the 20GB and 60GB versions. If your jaws haven't dropped yet, let me give you a total figure by adding pre-order sales as well which would be 28,200 with an average price touching nearly US$ 1370.Nintendo's Wii is also being sold on ebay, however it didn't rake in as much cash as the PS3. Now, that is not a shocker given Sony's popularity and loyal fan following. The only strong contender for the top spot with PS3 would be Microsoft, but not this time as only 330 Xbox 360's have been sold between November 12 and 24 with the average cost being US$ 420.62. The Wii is being sold for US$ 249.99 in shops, but on aunction sites the price is US$ 412.53 (yay for Nintendo). Taking into consideration pre-order sales a total of 29,451 Wii consoles have been sold till date.
