Be prepared for Red Steel's part II

Ubisoft's Red steel has told a ton, despite of not winning any accolades from the critics. After such a cold response from critics, it comes as a suprise that this game has been a hit, only being beaten by Nintendo's Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess. To be honest, I'm surprised with the game's success as I wasn't sure of how well the sword swinging and gun aiming game play would get along with Wii's motion sensing device. However it appears that players are enjoying mastering this. Also the whole 'East meets West' didn't sit down too well with me.

Hopefully, the planned sequel can only get better than this version. Oh, did I forget to mention there is going to be a sequel? Well, isn't that obvious as the game is a super super hit for Wii? The news of a part II has been confirmed by the company's official website...almost. They are apparently looking for a Paris-based designed for Red Steel's sequel. Also, they would prefer a contender with some online experience, which means the sequel will feature online play.

Personally I think Red Steel owes its success to the fact that it is the only real FPS available for the Wii at the moment. It will be interesting to see if the sequel can repeat history as there will be many more FPS games by then.
