- PS3 to release down under
T
his March 23rd, the kangaroos down under will witness the release of Sony's PS3. I are not sure if the australians are gonna to like the price tag much, as they will have to shell out a whopping AUD$999.95 (NZD$1195.95) to get one of the units. It is the 60GB version we are talking about, and the 20GB system will not be available. Somehow, I have a feeling that the PS3 units are not going to be flying off the shelves. However, maybe the following list of PS3 games could help:- January 30, 2007 - 4:47 PM | Related Entries - PS3 | Comments (0)
- Strapya brings Super Mario Bros. chocolate coin set
I have a sweet tooth and I love Super Mario Bros. So obviously a chance to combine my two loves is more than welcomed by me. If you haven't put two and two together yet, yes, they are coming up with Super Mario Bros. chocolate coins. And such great timing too, Valentine's Day is just around the corner. Who wouldn't like receiving these Mario chocolate coins?! Keep in mind it's not just chocolate we are talking about, the set also includes a Mario world figurine. Which one would you like? Again, the deal doesn't end here, you also get a brick or question block or clay pipe along with the rest of the goodies. - January 29, 2007 - 4:41 PM | Related Entries - General | Comments (0)
- US Army boot camps use SNES for training
If serving your country is not reason enough for you to join the army, then maybe playing Super Nintendo's specially designed system for military training lure you into signing up. A hard to get cartridge of the game Multipurpose Arcade Combat Simulator is for sale on ebay. Don't you go about getting excited yet, unless of course, you have a gun or more specifically a modified M-16 in your homes or where ever it is you are. This gun game is made for US army boot camps and is being sold for $499.99. Buy it before somebody else does, and while you are at it don't forget to stop at your local super markets to get that modified M-16 to go with it as it doesn't use the regular Super Scope. Nothing like good ol' video games to master kicking some enemy ass!- January 26, 2007 - 4:42 PM | Related Entries - General | Comments (0)
- European release dates for the 60GB PS3
Sony's PS3 has fallen flat on its face so far. What Sony need now is to make some noise before the European launch of the console which is scheduled for 23rd March. And they are doing just that, but for all the wrong reasons. Firstly, we are all aware of the sky high prices of the high end version, and for those of you who aren't aware, it will be available for 425 pounds in England and 599 euros in the rest of europe. The europeans are being taking for a ride, wouldn't you say? Another black mark is that they will be releasing only the 60GB system. People say it's purely to rake in some (well, lots) of extra bucks.- January 25, 2007 - 4:50 PM | Related Entries - PS3 | Comments (0)
- More Mario games to be out on the Wii soon
Remember how we were promised Super Paper Mario for the Gamecube a while back? Well, the time has come for Nintendo to reveal it's release dates. Excited? Better be. April is the month for Paper Mario fans, and especially those who are totally for the classic controller fun that completes a Mario experience. From what we've read and heard, button A will be used to change between 2D and 3D perspectives.- January 24, 2007 - 5:08 PM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | Comments (0)

- Get healthy with your Wii
I know how much I hate hitting the gym, but I'm not against the idea of shedding a few pounds. And if I could combine staying fit with playing games, I'd be completely thrilled. Luckily, Nintendo' Wii has made it possible. I wonder if the Japanese games giant had foreseen this particular benifit though. Not too long ago, Mickey DeLorenzo lost a good 9 pounds by chalking out a Wii workout of 30 minutes daily for six weeks. The results have been astonishngly good with his Wii experiments, nine pounds is no joke!- January 23, 2007 - 3:08 PM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | Comments (0)

- Streetcar GO for Nintendo' Wii
What's new for the Wii? A whole new game! And no this doesn't just include the software, but exciting new hardware as well! The game is Streetcar GO, this game will include a Shinkasen Wii private controller. The complete set is to release on 1st of March, and it will be available at a little over $85 (10,479 Yen). It is a simulation game in which we have an option of playing 6 different models of Sanyo Shinkasen. The Shinkasen controller plays a big part in the game's experience, however, along with it, the Wiimote can play the part of a side kick. Also, the Wiimote is useful for kicking in the kid's mode.- January 23, 2007 - 2:29 PM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | Comments (0)

- Sony PS3 firmware ver 1.5 supports electronic money

Remember the cashless service from Vodafone ? It was called as the Edy. It allowed or rather allows users to upload 'cash credits' into their accounts which can be later utilised to purchase products in the real world. Valid only in Japan, this e-cash can be used for purchasing from thousands of stores, vending machines, train stations and even taxis. Well, the same Edy has made it to the Playstation 3. The PS3 network in Japan allows you to add, view balance and do every other function possible with Edy a part of the interface for the consoles being sold there.- January 23, 2007 - 10:22 AM | Related Entries - PS3 | Comments (0)

- Google to bring ads in video games?
Oh, no! It's really happening! Well, the talks are anyway. Apparently Google is looking to broaden its horizon, and unfortunately that could extend to video games. Google has already conquered the Web, but isn't satisfied with just this. Wall Street Journal believes that soon ads will feature in video games. Google is looking to get hold of Adscape Media Inc. which will let it break into the world of games.- January 22, 2007 - 4:41 PM | Related Entries - General | Comments (1)

- DS snapshot from the past
Nintendo sure knows how to promote its products, or maybe it's just the Japanese fans. Either way, we saw a DS related picture from years back when it was first out in Japan. Pretty cool to see the DS on the Yamanote line. The games crazy Japanese will stop at nothing to promote or show their love for Nintendo! But, if you think it over..who wouldn't want to go on a train that has the DS as its exterior?! Hmmm..Sony fanboys, I suppose.- January 22, 2007 - 3:50 PM | Related Entries - Nintendo DS | Comments (0)

- Nyko comes out with a range of Wii accessories
With the launch of two new next generation consoles, it is no suprise that accessories for them have started floating around in the market. Nyko has come out with a good range of these accessories. The Nyko Wii Charge Station is a handy little device, that lets you charge your Wii remotes. Thank god for this, as buying those batteries was proving to be a real pain. All you need to do now is plug in up to 2 Wiimotes in the dock, and keep a check on those red and green LED lights to know the status battery charge left. And as a bonus with this, Nyko offers battery covers to avoid a situation of you throwing your remotes into your TV or friends. The charge station is availalble for $29.99.- January 19, 2007 - 4:39 PM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | Comments (0)

- Which is the quietest next generation system?
Have you ever wondered which of the next generation consoles is the noisest? I hadn't, but somebody has wondered about it enough to run a few tests to erase any doubts people might have. The first test is the location test. The tester believed that maybe the location had something to do with the noise, as when the consoles turns hot, the fans turn on to reduce the heat. However, he didn't quite get the chance to move around his consoles to conduct this test. But, let's move on, there are other methods.- January 19, 2007 - 10:14 AM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | PS3 | Xbox 360 | Comments (0)

- Europe sees incredibly high PS3 prices
We've talked about how the PS3 will be available is Europe for a whopping £425 (which is $838) this March, and yes as a way of making more money, only the 60GB version will be on sale initially. This time however, we can't blame Sony as this ridiculously high price was set by retailers. Sony seems to be getting punches from every direction at the moment.- January 19, 2007 - 9:59 AM | Related Entries - PS3 | Comments (0)

- Sony promoting Nintendo?
Sony has really out-done itself this time. Wasn't falling flat on its face after the launch of the PS3 enough? Hasn't Sony had enough of widely popular belief that it has lost to Nintendo's Wii? Apparently not. This time they have gone as far as to promote the Wii on their own site! Just because you don't have a description for the PS2 version of Metal slug doesn't mean you advertise the Wii one! Don't believe us? Take a look at the following image.- January 19, 2007 - 9:48 AM | Related Entries - Nintendo Wii | PS2 | PS3 | Comments (0)

- Far Fetched PSP specs : Real or not?
Recently, PSP fanboys have been in the mood for telling tall tales, or maybe it's just wishful thinking. They have made up these really unbelievable specs that are laughable. While the dual analog set-up and the new metal look is at least a teeny bit believable, but I can't say the same about the rest. So, want to know what these silly facts are? Okay, here we go. It is the inclusion of UMD, Memory Stick and 8GB of flash. (*scoff*?)- January 19, 2007 - 9:32 AM | Related Entries - PSP | Comments (0)
