Sandler donates Playstations to Israel

adamsandler.jpgAdam Sandler is on a roll to help Israel following its 34-day war with Lebanon. The 50 First Dates star has announced that he would donate 400 Sony Playstations to Israelis whose homes were damaged in the fighting. Danoch, has held several meetings with actors, producers and directors over the last several days to describe damage sustained by Israel and to explain the country's position on the current cease-fire and threats posed by Hizbullah and other regional forces. Sandler spoke with Danoch at Sony Studios, where he was joined by members of his own family and several dozen studio employees.

"Desperate," "Lost" going mobile

desperate.jpgYou may have enjoyed games based on movies, however some entertainment companies turned to TV shows for their inspiration. Gameloft, one of the leaders in mobile gaming world, is set to confirm Monday an exclusive multiyear agreement with Touchstone Television to develop, publish and distribute mobile games based on ABC's hit series "Lost" and "Desperate Housewives."The first games from the pact will be released in January. As both 'Lost' and 'Desperate Housewives' has achieved lot of success with intensely devoted fans, there is no doubt that Gameloft, with their creative and talented pool of producers, will exceed those expectations and develop a game that captures the defining essence of each show.

There's a menu (Computer format) and a navigation sequence with pictures and nutritional information at each step. And that’s not all; actually the DS Lite speaks things like "Add the butter to the pan" or "Turn on the oven". Given computers seem to have replaced Home Economics in school, it's only fitting that they're now going to teach it. Well for now the Japanese are lucky as only they can enjoy the DS Cooking Navigator

Let them eat (video game-inspired) cake

UK Police criticize Reservoir Dogs while the Aussies ban it

As any self respecting gamer would know, Reservoir dogs follows the movie and is all about robbers getting away with the goods. The game, according to the UK Police, glorifies violence against police. A Member of Parliament, Phil Willis, also went on record to say that he was staggered to find that such a game was allowed to go on sale. ""It sends out the message that the police and authority figures are there to be targeted and dispatched, desensitises people to the idea of killing and undermines normal moral values," he said.

Mortal Kombat comes to Wii

Nintendo had promised that most popular games would come to the Wii. Well if Mortal Kombat was / is not popular then nothing else is. Mortal Kombat is set to make its appearance on the Wii console some time next year. Mortal Kombat : Armageddon which is to be released on the Wii is going to come out on the Playstation2 and Xbox later this year.
