Havok Licenses Physics Engine To Atari's Path of Neo

Havok, a supplier of cross-platform middleware solutions, is the physics engine behind the latest installment of video games to accompany the popular The Matrix movie series, specifically the just-released multi-console title The Matrix: Path Of Neo. According to the company, Atari's wholly owned Shiny Entertainment development studio chose Havok Physics because it needed to create an immersive world for gamers to play as Neo, the central character, and relive his most important scenarios from the complete film trilogy, including the original film, The Matrix. Havok Physics allows a wide range of objects to move and interact with the same sense of mass and motion as they do in real life, changing the outcome of the game from moment to moment based on a player’s interactions with the world. PS3 tops UK poll as most anticipated next-gen console

With just weeks to go until the Xbox 360 hits European shelves, a survey has revealed that UK gamers are most looking forward to the arrival of the PlayStation 3. The survey, which was conducted by research firm XTN Data in September, found that of the 1000 respondents questioned, 32 per cent were planning to buy a PS3, while 27 per cent said they would purchase an Xbox 360. The survey did not ask respondents for their opinion on Nintendo's Revolution console. "This comes despite huge efforts by Microsoft to launch in time for the vital Christmas period and before Sony's 2006 launch," said XTN Data founder Greig Harper. The Xbox 360 is due to launch in Europe on December 2.

XEG comes out with cool gamepad

Game pads for cell phones are not a new concept per se, but the latest ones keep getting better and better. The XEG gamepad, also has the same standard design. It holds the phone in the centre of the gamepad and has controls on the sides. There is a directional keypad on the left hand side while there are the four action keys on the right. Additionally there are keys at the top corners , just like in an Xbox controller which help in certain games. The phone is held in the centre by 4 "hooks" which come out from the game pad. Additionally, the gamepad and handset are connected by a data cord (not all handsets are compatible as a result and once must check to ensure compatibility before buying). Its easy to see that the XEG gamepad is a must buy for serious gamers. Thanks to its small size, its also easy to carry around the device.
